Principal's Message

September 2018
Hello Students and Parents/Guardians
I hope that you have had a fun and relaxing summer. I have been at Katimavik ES for 3.5 years and I am looking forward to working with students, staff and parents again this year as we continue to build on all of the great things Katimavik E.S. has to offer. For the 2018-2019 school year, Katimavik has an enrollment of 330 students in grade 4-8. We offer an English Program, an Early French Immersion program, and General Learning Program (GLP). Again this year, we will offer a junior and Intermediate Learning Disabilities Specialized intervention Program (LDSIP).  This year, we have have a new Vice-Principal.I would like to welcome Diane Farrell to our school community.
About me:
This will be my 15th year as Principal /Vice-Principal. During the past 14 years I have been a school administrator at Bayshore P.S. (K-5), Fisher Park/Summit Alternative (Gr. 7/8), and Bridlewood C.E.S. (K-8 – at the time), and the last 3.5 years at Katimavik ES (Gr. 4-8). My wife is also a teacher with the OCDSB, and we have 2 boys who keep us very busy – a 4 and 6 year old who both attend one of our great OCDSB schools.
Feel free to contact me if you have questions/concerns. You can visit the school, call me, or email me –
Take care,
Jeff Gervais
